The Edge of The Page – writing challenge

Sep 10, 2020 | Book, The Edge of The Page | 0 comments

The Edge of The Page is the new Vampire’s Tears initiative that aims to engage our most courageous and creative readers.

Do you enjoy creating new characters and settings? Do you spend hours writing page after page of stories that come from your imagination and that you’d love to share with others?

The Edge of The Page is just the thing for you!

Our website wants to offer you a place to showcase your passions, your abilities, and your ideas.

Vampire’s Tears wants to embark on this experiment with the help of all of you who’ve been following and helping us day after day in our great little cultural project. We want to put forward a challenge to test your talent, gathering your original stories and putting them into a competition to win a place in our new dedicated segment.

At the end of each month, our staff will select four of the best writings that will be published weekly on the website, while the stories of all other participants will be collected in a browsable document.

These are the rules:

The first day of each month we will present you with five (5) words chosen randomly by an automated generator that you will have to use, all of them or even just one, as a source of inspiration for your work.

Once your story is complete, you can send it to our editorial staff through the form you can find below.

Guidelines for participating:

  1. The story can’t exceed 3500 words.
  2. The events of the story and the characters used must be completely original, hence not inspired by already known and existing stories.
  3. Fanfiction is, therefore, not allowed.
  4. The author retains all the rights of the material they send and will be able to use it again in the future.
  5. HAVE FUN AND BE CREATIVE!

We want to begin the challenge already starting with this month and publish the four best stories in the month of October to coincide with Halloween celebrations!

This means that you can already take part in our initiative and submit the stories that will be published next month by and not after September 30.

The theme for this month is, indeed, HALLOWEEN, and for this specific occasion, we are looking for HORROR stories.

We can’t wait to dive into the fruits of your wonderful creativity!

Happy writing, everyone.
