Starting May 26, 2021, HYDE Live 2020-2021 Anti Wire will be available for sale on DVD and Blu-Ray. The record will include his January 31st performance at the Tokyo International Forum.
HYDE LIVE 2020-2021 ANTI WIRE
The complete tour was held in seven different cities in Japan and included a grand total of 11 performances. The first date of the tour was on the 26th of December 2020 and it will be coming to a close on the 7th of March 2021, taking into account two postponed dates. Even though the live event was announced as an acoustic concert, the description isn’t entirely accurate. What was used was, rather, a kind of “making noise without using the voice” technique, all this to ensure an environment as safe as possible when considering the current world health emergency.
The members of the crew (including the band and HYDE himself) were tested beforehand, the audience was placed at safe distances and everyone wore masks. That’s why the crowd was provided with the possibility of using musical instruments to display their enthusiasm. On the other hand, the vocal part was recorded in advance so to create the right atmosphere. In our opinion, it’s definitely an original and unconventional way to manage an event like this but it seems that, in the end, it was still greatly enjoyed by all those present.
The setlist for the tour included most of HYDE’s solo tracks, but that’s not all. In fact, during the concerts, audiences were able to listen to many VAMPS and L’Arc~en~Ciel songs, together with some covers performed by the artist that you will be able to find in this record.
Different Editions
The record will be available in three different editions, starting with the one that includes the most content. It is a Limited Edition on Blu-Ray in digipack deluxe edition containing the January 31st event and a series of backstage looks and live potages never seen before. It’s clearly an edition for collectors and that we recommend to the most passionate fans. There will be ulterior bonuses included for those who manage to secure the first release but as for now, it hasn’t been announced what the bonuses are yet.
The other two editions, on the other hand, will only include the January 31st event. There is also the possibility to choose between a Blu-Ray version (pictured on the side) and a DVD format (pictured above). These editions too will include a first release bonus, that also hasn’t been revealed yet.
ROENTGEN’s return
During the tour, there was also an announcement that made a lot of HYDE fans very happy. We’re talking about a new ROENTGEN album, the record that jumpstarted the Japanese artist’s carer 20 years ago. We’ll be talking more about what to be on the lookout for when it comes to this album in another dedicated article. Stay tuned!
